Trips

At Buntingford First School we thrive on first hand learning experiences.  School trips are an exciting and engaging way for children to learn outside of the classroom and start to explore their learning in the wider communities. School trips bring learning to life and enable children to see their learning in context.

In addition to the academic benefits, school trips also provide a chance for children to socialise with their peers in a different way than within day-to-day school. This can help them to form new friendships and develop social skills that will be useful throughout their lives.

At Buntingford First School we aim to run trips on a regular basis, making the most of our local surroundings and taking advantage of educational opportunities. Sometimes, instead of visiting a set venue, we bring the learning to our school through specialised workshops or themed days. Our extended day trip for Year 3 and Year 4 provide further opportunities for adventure and exploration, with forest school style activities.  This is the perfect pre-residential transition.

Please find below a proposed overview of our trips for 2023-2024. This is not an exhaustive list and this year there may be additions or changes based on classroom topics and teacher plans throughout the year. However, we hope that this initial list will give you an idea of the types of opportunities and associated costs your child may have in the coming year.
